Georgia is an amazing cluster of cultures, religions, fascinating landscapes and ancient history. It is the country where everyone can find something to his liking - from snowy peaks to subtropical shores, from deserts to lush forests, from modern cities to ancient villages. Georgia is located in the South of the Caucasus, between the Black and Caspian Seas. 
It is a mountainous country with attractive nature. The history of its statehood counts almost three-thousand five hundred years and that of Christianity - two thousand years. Since ancient times, Georgia is considered to be the homeland of wine. Georgia has deep-seated tradition in wine-making. Archaeologists and historians possess historical materials about 7000 years old Georgian grape and much more antique wine vessels. 
As the scientists remark, the oldest grape sorts were discovered right in Georgia. The population of Georgia is about 5 million. The official language is Georgian, which is the only language in the Ibera-Caucasian family written in an ancient script. Georgian language has its own unique alphabet, which is one of the 14 existing alphabets in the world. The alphabet has been modernized during centuries, but keeps the original roots. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia from 5th century AD. This city has a long and fascinating history. 
According to legends, it was founded in the 4th century by King Vakhtang Gorgasali, on the site of its warm mineral-water springs – it developed into the main city of the Caucasus. The unique part of Tbilisi Old Town is wonderful with winding roads, alleys and wooden balconies. 
The main attractions of city are: Mtatsminda (Holy Mountain), Metekhi Church standing proudly above the river on a cliff-top, Sioni Cathedral the beating heart of Georgian Orthodoxy and many others. Georgian Architecture is mainly represented by the numerous churches and fortresses. Simplicity of forms, efficient design, harmonious proportions, delicate ornamentation and a perfect harmony with the surrounding landscape are the peculiarities of the Georgian architecture. 
The main types of churches are basilica and the most ancient basilica is built in the 4th-6th cc. Georgia is has a proud and completely unique polyphonic tradition of song. The country also distinguishes with its unique cuisine, legendary hospitality and that is why tourists like to visit Georgia. 
Georgia is renowned for its variety of landscape. Georgia has a lot to offer to travelers. Mainly, tourists can see historical monuments and unique architecture, great masterpieces of fine arts, ancient cultures and traditions still preserved in remote and inaccessible villages and mountainous provinces, majestic Caucasian Mountains, spectacular resorts and national parks, delicious Georgian cuisine and wine, friendly and hospitable people.
